Convex Driving Mirrors

It is important for drivers to be able to easily see the immediate surroundings of their car. Obviously a driver can see in front of him, and finding what is to left and right is only a quick turn of the head. To find out what is behind, he can look in the rear view mirror. Unfortunately, cars have blind spots to the left rear and right rear of the car.

The are of the blind spot can be reduced by using a convex mirror as the driving mirror. These are curved mirrors which widen the field of view to the rear as shown below.

The area of the blind spot can be reduced further by fitting convex blind spot mirrors to the wing mirrors.
