A Mathematical Musical

Evariste Galois was a prodigy who solved ancient Greek problems by virtually inventing the branch of Maths called Group Theory.
He dabbled in French revolutionary politics during the nineteenth century, then died in a duel over a girl.
He was expelled from school, failed to go to University and spent his last night alive scribbling down his discoveries, which were no understood for decades afterwards.
A story like this is well worth a musical.
