What a triumph for the British Government. Students in many other countries getting 18 in a maths exam would be branded a failure, but in the UK they get a certificate to say the have passed.
18 find seem low a low mark to some, but it is still higher than the British government deserves, 0% of whom are competent.

More than half of the visitors to this website come direct and this will probably increase over the next year because I will be concentrating on online tests – 400 or so over the year.

How can we improve the accuracy of grades that students receive?
Every student should receive a completely random grade.
If you don’t like that idea, what about the grade of the student who sat next to them at lunchtime?
What about an estimated grad based on shoe size?
At least some of them will be right!
