Invited for an Interview

What always turned by off job applications was paperwork. The first hurdle to overcome is the application form.

The positions will entail teaching Maths from Year 7 to A level and would continue till the end of the academic year with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.     Call me a time waster, obstructive, useless and lots of other things. The fact is, if they paid a decenty wage to maths teachers they would not have to plead with idiots like me to come and work for them.

The Danger of Perfection

Gene editing could make super intelligent super beautiful superstars of us all. There will be no ugly stupid children left in the future promised us by the gene scientists. The bad luck meted out to some of us by nature will be erased, and we will all be raised to the same level of perfection.

As if. In this future of dreams, there will be blandness of beauty and we will all be ungrateful at our good fortune. We will lose appreciation of ugliness and stupidity. Both have their own grace.

This pathetic wretch can probably look forward to never having a piece of good luck in her whole life, but still finds a reason to smile.
