£1500 an hour for a private tutor

Apparently some tutors charge £1500 an hour for their services. What would a tutor do with £1500 an hour?
I have no idea.

And who would pay it?
I have received offers to fly to the middle east and carribean, all ecpenses paid, plus accommodation, living expenses, taxi fares etc etc etc.

I imagine when I get there I will meet children who have never had to try hard to understand something and want to be tutored while playing video games or using facebook.

Microteaching

Bit like microlending. If you know something that any poor wretch would benefit from knowing, let them.have it.
Bot by bit, make the world a better place.

School holidays

Exactly what it says. Schools in Britain are empty 20 weeks a year. Why not allow overseas students and their teachers to use them free? Another good use for foreign aid money.

Overseas schools

British universities have campuses overseas. Why not British schools? British state schools in particular. Better way to spend money than on sending soldiers to save countries from themselves!

Tech prophets

I have been techy ever since I got my first website. I have the answers to most tech problems now.
People like me should get tech prophet sandwich boards to put outside their houses so neighbours can bring their techy problems for me to fix.

Army Schools

The army has a lot to teach us besides how to kill people thousands at a time. It is am education institution, taking the toughest kids and making them do something useful. Why not then, set up schools staffed by army officers who can intercept people on the way to youth custody and turn them from the dark side?

40% of OFSTED Inspectors to go

Because they are not good enough apparently.
60% are good enough therefore.
In many exams 60% would get you s ‘B’.
Not sure if OFSTED deserve a ‘B.

YABUMSUCKS!

Googling this returned no results but I thought it was such a nice word we should be using it for something.
A swearword maybe.
So people, please add ‘yabumsucks’ to your vocabulary of swearwords.
Maybe it will one day be in the oxford English dictionary.

The Product of a Bad Education

Or bad parenting. Or the modern age.
Anyone who says ‘you know’ or ‘like like’ or even ‘like like you know you know’ – have I heard Kate Bush say this?
Anyone who says ‘gooder’ – I heard a radio 4 today presenter use this word. I really thought radio 4 was one of the last refuges of good English. Maybe I will have to go to India.
Even worse is ‘betterer’ or ‘worse-er’.
And was it in a dream this morning that I heard familiar words had been dropped from the Oxford English dictionary?
Buttercup? Maybe they have been ‘extincted’ by people paving their front gardens. Cassette? ‘Extincted’ by cassettes and downloads.
