Selective Hearing Loss

Hearing loss is often caused by a similar hearing loss at all frequencies. In a condition known as selective frequency loss, the loss of hearing is concentrated at certain frequency ranges. The audiogram below shows conductive hearing loss particularly in the low and mid frequency range. This could lead to inability to recognise speech.
