International GCSEs, also called IGCSEs were introduced in 1988 and designed for overseas students though much material is common to GCSEs and IGCSs and the range of grades is the same - U to A*. Students study for IGCSEs between the ages 14 - 16.

They are now among the world's most popular secondary school exams, sat in over one hundred and twenty countries worldwide, and available in over seventy subjects.

All students study English and Maths, and pick from a range of other subjects, typically sitting 10 subjects in total. Passes at grade C or above are needed to enrol for a wide range of A Levels, and if a particular subject is studied at A Level, they will often demand an A or an A* in that subject, and Universities demand passes at C or above or the equivalent to be able to enrol on a Degree course.

Many teachers think there is more material to be learnt in a typical IGCSE, and the material is more in depth, so that IGCSEs set higher levels of atainment than GCSEs, though they nominally have the same weight.

We tutor physics at this level. Physics is the one of the most important subjects, needed by many colleges for entry to many training courses, and by many universities as a prerequisite to entry to a science based Degree course

All our tutors who study physics have a maths or physics degree and tutoring experience, including good feedback from students and parents. They all have current CRB or police checks which is displayed on their profile. Many of them have made a contribution to our websites - writing notes, making videos, or contributing on the forum.
