Selective Breeding is Inbreeding

Taking animals with the same desirable characteristics – like being a good milk producer – and allowing them to produce offspring is not good. Having the same characteristics is essentially having the same genes, so selective breeding is inbreeding, and reduces the gene pool, leading to an unhealthy population.
