I don’t know where dignity is

When I go into my local bank I always go straight to the front of the queue because I am a business customer. The people in the queue seem to have no dignity whatsoever, because they are made to wait while I go to the ‘first class’ counter.
But I don’t feel any dignity at being able to walk past all these people to the front of the queue.
I can feel them putting me in the same dock as some dictator just arrested and made to lie in a cage on a bed.
Despite my sympathy for those people made to stand in a queue, every time my bank forces me to wait, I let them have it.
I had a extremely enjoyable five minute argument with barclay’s staff once after they failed to open the counter on time. The last word was ‘Next time, don’t keep me waiting’.
Another time, I told one of their counter staff to take their good service sign down because it was all a pack of lies.

I felt dignity walk out with me then.
